-I know you have found your fate in Uvanovo in that day, when you gave me an interview. How had it happened?

-We both were looking for each other and we had found, glory to God! We met at the film festival “Mirror”, where produced together the picture of Sergey Soloviev “Classmates”. I played there an episodic role of Jenya Otradnaya and my future husband Evgeny Goryainov was the main soundman of this film. We married after three month of meeting and now bring up the daughter!

-What was the wedding?

-As I already said you in interview, we had a wedding in the family and friends circle. It was a weekday, we all together went to the registry office (at 9 a.m.), then drank tea in the nearest comfortable café, took photographs, communicated and then set down at the festive table at home, we were congratulated by our relatives, gave presents, we sang songs with the guitar together. Mother began ro sing us Oqujava for three times, but tears prevented (smiles). Everything was so good and sincerely! We didn’t want to have an official setting and many people in such an important day for us. And everybody was notified beforehand, that we know to kiss, that’s why no “now a kiss!” and other tradition elements.

-And did you celebrate this event, news about future addition in your family?

-We knew about it the day before wedding and decided to say it to our parents the next day after wedding, when all family gather for tea and my mother hasn’t leave yet (she lives in Volgodonsk). Of course, everybody was very glad! But nobody else knew about it and especially mass-media. We think, we must the guard child from external eyes and thoughts before it was not born and didn’t become stronger. It is terrible for me to see on the covers of the magazines, where famous women show their roundness stomach. Only one photo session Lera Masskva made for us “with stomach”, but onle family archives (smiles).

-Till what moment did you work before taking care of you own and your future child?

-I had two performances and then work and then work in studio only: recording songs and voicing of films.

-Was it important for you who will born first: boy or girl?

-At first, we decided, that a boy will be born … US showed a girl, but we were not upset. When God trusts you such a gift, there isn’t any difference: a boy or a girl? Jenya and I decided at once: we will have many children!

-Did you find the name for daughter quickly?

-Antonina as the first name, pronounced between us. It was Jenya’s grandmother’s name, she reared him, as he says. Therefore I couldn’t but to name the daughter in her honor. Buy the way, Shevcuk, whom we like very much, has the song “Antonina”. But we looked through other names too.

-How did you prepare for borning of your firstborn: went on courses, read books, spoke with “elder friends”, etc.?

-Yes, we began to communicate with friends, who have children; they advised literature and “sent” us on courses. I think, people must go on courses: it is not only very interesting, but important to know, what for you should be prepared, not to panic in this responsible moment and to remain power. But not looking at being prepared, I was shocked by all those events (smiles). But for such a happiness as born of your own child, you can stand some hours!

-Which were your emotions in the first days of maternity and paternity?

-You must feel it! Father was admitted to us immediately after born, so the daughter we met together, said her what an attagirl she is. Then we studied her for many hours, sniffed and embraced her, it was so interesting! Finally, everything in your head and life change, come harmony and pacification, of course.

-What was easier for you, than you had supposed? And what was more difficult?

-We thought, we have to spend much money for child, but it wasn’t so! We bought no things before our child was born, who have grew-up children, brought everything and parents: perambulators, auto chairs, diapers, clothes, toy-rattles. But my back ache still nowadays, I have to bring more than ten kilograms (daughter weighs so much already).

-People often tell anecdotes, when fathers, being excited, do anything not rightly. Had you anything of it?

-Yes, when I was in a maternity hospital. Jenya transported things from our flat to parents (we decided to live with them in this period) and I can’t find part of tableware or any heater till nowadays and Jenya says: “Don’t ask me, me daughter was born then!”

-Did you christen your child?

-Yes, Jenya’s mother and my younger brother christened Tonya at the age of 7 month in the Chuurch of Ioann Bogoslov in Sofrino. For us this church is vey significant, because we were married there. We wanted that very parson christened Antonina. It is a tradition!

-Are you calm parents or very “worry”?

-Are you calm because we decided, that not we will live for children, but children are for us! It is a right formula. We travel much since the first month of Antonina’s life, everywhere bring her with us. It’s always good for child there, where his mother and father are. Particularly, if he is on breast feeding.

-Who can you trust to help in looking for a small child?

-Antonina is 10 month and only recently we began to leave her with grandmother and grandfather sometimes.

-They say, that even by babies can demonstrate their future talents. Did you notice in Antonina any musical or another propensities?

-Of course! Tonya plays on keys excellently (composer), as solo and in duet with father (laughs).

-Have you days or evenings without child? Do you need it?

-No, we feel lonely without Tonya. We can go to premiere of the film (Jenya works in cinema), but no more than 5-6 hours. I am worry, want to embrace her quickly. And we go together to shops, café and we visit anyone together too.

-How many children do you plan to have in your family?

-Three exactly and then be more. The children grow so quickly! (smiles)

- Jenya, can we consider songs that you sing about love are autobiographical?
- The songs are written not by me, but of course, I add to each composition something from myself. I live it through, suffer it and never pretend. Therefore, songs have something about me.
- Did you happen to suffer from bitter love?
- I am an optimistic person in my live. Of course, different sad stories were in my biography, but they didn’t reflect negatively on my perception of the world. Everything is for better. I am not sorry about anything!
- Does your creativity depend on the inside feelings?
– On the contrary, my inside feelings depend on my creative work. When recently we recorded my second album, I felt such strong enthusiasm! And when I appear on big celebrations, see many people, new cities, then, returning back, approximately two weeks more I simply fly because of energy! In general I am always opened to feelings. If everything is good at my work, I want to give it back to my audience.
- What is more characteristic for you quick and uncontrollable feelings or slow and careful relations?
- Love appears differently but I believe people who look for each other recognize each other immediately. It isn’t important at all quick or slow relations because everything depends on previous life experience. I think real love comes from friendship, first as respect and admiration by each other.
- What is the main thing about men you understood by this moment?
- I understood they are the same as we! We should treat them as ourselves. And more of that, it is important to forget about yourself in love.
- What can you do for love?
-The biggest deed in a woman’s life is to give a birth to a child. If she gives a birth from a beloved man, it confirms she made a right choice.
- Do you need anybody near you or you are rather self-sufficient?
- It is very important for me that somebody is near me. Until recent four years I had nobody with me. Now I understand that I need the presence of beloved man. Though I think, if you can’t meet him you shouldn’t hurry the events and look for him. It is better to live honestly, then happiness will come.
- Does it mean you have deserved your happiness?
- I hope. But it is not enough. Every day you need to behave so, that no one could take away this beautiful gift. One should follow the dictates of his heart.
- What will you not sacrifice even for love?
- I will not sacrifice the life itself. Life is given for love. In order to love you need to live.

- Some people think that show business is not for marriage…

- I don’t put myself in the frame of show business; I don’t play and don’t pretend. I don’t conceal that I am a woman and I want happiness too. Show business is a work and to sacrifice family happiness to work is at least stupid and even a crime to a certain extent.

- They say if to make a family then not with a showman. Do you agree with this opinion?

- I try to stay away from the show business, I devote myself to music. I am not interested in glamour parties; a person is much more important for me but not the sphere of his work. If it happens so that a man and a woman are involved in one sphere, say pedagogics, surgery or arts, it brings people together though the moment of competition appears.

- Is your beloved from musical sphere?

- I will say he’s from the sphere of arts. I like it because I don’t have to explain many things; we just breathe the same air.

- What do you think about flirtation?

- Negatively. It is just a game of passions that results in nothing. It is a shade that doesn’t make it is possible to be sincere, to communicate with people honestly. A flirtation man has a mask on and not about friendship and love. It is the work of the devil.

- Did you often visit weddings?

- I have been singing since 7 years! People celebrated weddings almost every weekend in the Palace of Culture where I sang. Besides, I worked in a restaurant, so visited a lot weddings…
As a guest I went to the wedding only once and it was an amusing story. It was my friend’s wedding last summer. I came beforehand (she lives in another town) and I learned that there wasn’t any program and the banquet was ordered for relations only. I was shocked: “What is it? Why did’t you say anything to me?” “I just didn’t think about it”, she answered. I decided to save the situation, because I understood, people, who hardly new each other would feel uncomfortable on such a wedding. As a result I took the microphone and worked as toastmaster all the time: said toasts, led contests, sang songs (I had disks with music). I think next wedding I visit will be my own!

- Do you have any specific plans about it?

- Every girl has such plans, probably. Even the girl who doesn’t confess to this, dreams about a white dress and a bunch of flowers that she would throw… Still, not all men dream about that, they don’t like ceremonials and don’t want to think how to make a proposal of marriage, how to present a ring, how to meet with parents, how to organize a wedding party etc. I think it is important, the deep meaning is hidden in traditional things. That way a man and a woman show they are ready to the marriage and are serious about it. It is also very important not only for a new family but for parents whom we shouldn’t forget about.

- Do you need their approval of your choice?

- Of course! This is theme of relations with parents. If my parents understand that I love a man, they will accept him even if they don’t know him personally. They trust me.

- As I understood you will have a magnificent traditional wedding?

- Not at all. I have many holidays and celebrations thanks to my profession. Still, the cherished implementation of my dream will be sacral, in my family’s circle. I will marry secretly, won’t make PR from wedding. Then we will visit our friends, relatives to share our joy. I believe the wedding is a home holiday in general; it is the birthday of a new family. What for is any effort, noise, publicity? However, the first anniversary of the wedding is possible to celebrate with a wide scope, inviting all people to a restaurant, organizing a concert, getting presents, walking all the night…

- People usually think beforehand about what kind of parents they will be. What kind of mother will you become?

- I will be a very good mother; I’ll do everything for that! People who think about themselves that they will be bad parents are just afraid; they aren’t ready for a birth of a child. I think that I’m ready!

-“I have begun to play the guitar, but because of not having enough time, it isn’t possible to master it,” confesses Jenya to “JG”. But now is a crisis, I have only several concerts and more free time”. When sharply I had little offers of job, I fall into despondency, saying honestly. But now this period passed, I try to derive from each free day. Play the guitar, read books and study to prepare new dishes. On the last days my relatives came to me and we arranged dinner at home, without going to the restaurant the most delicious Italian pasta. My best reservation in the restaurant are: pasta, soup-puree, and any exotic hotchpotch.

My parents didn’t that I left house.
-Jenya, your history is seemed to be one more variation of the fairy-tale about Cinderella. You panned out from a small Ural’s town – Krasnoturinsk, and on big scene.
-I was lucky, that God had directed me rightly in childhood, and I went to my aim without mistakes. Since early age I sang in the band “Pharaons”, we rode all the country. Then I taught there. And the turning point was, of course, the contest “The Secret of success”. Of course, to get out of a provincial town is very hard, because people just haven’t money for a ticket. Salaries can’t be compared with the capital ones. I have passed selection lap in Samara. And when I passed it, I left job and went to Moscow. I was very afraid! I thought where I come, where I stop. Thanks to the contest organizers, they did so, that the participants didn’t think about everyday problems.
-Did your parents let you go easy?
-In general, they didn’t notice, that I left their (laugh). Since childhood, I didn’t appear at home for a long time, went for tours. The first time father was puzzled, buut then he got accustomed. Saying truly, I have a dream to have a big house on the edge Moscow, there will live all my family: mother, father, brother and sister.
-Do you save part fees for house?
-(Laugh) Not yet. I don’t loop on it. Produsers rent a flat for me, at this moment I feel myself comfortable here. And money I spend for books, telephone, sand away for mother, and there is no money left for me (laugh). I don’t like different top clothes, so I buy it very seldom.

My friends call my boyfriend risky
-I remember, there was a moment, then you disrupted the shooting of Sergey Zverev’s project, because you were detected to be “unformatted” …
-I knew from friends only about it. Indeed it wasn’t so. I came to the program, and the head director didn’t like my suit. So, I didn’t look as the leaders of the project. Maybe, comparing with Zverev’s glamour I was “rumpled” as he said, but I was dressed as usual: jeans and T-shirt. And the head director said very improperty, that I was enraged, and I went away. Then I called to the administration and apologized. By the way, I have good relations with Sergey and I doubt he could say badly about me. In general, I prefer not to react on boorishness and insults, bot to ignore them.
-Girls cry aout unhappy love with your songs. Do you know this feel?
-Of course, I am very emotional in general. The condition of love doesn’t leave me. Everyday I fall in love! And I am always opened for feels. I concede, that a young man will come to my concert, will present me flowers and melt my heart. But today I haven’t permanent relations.
-Then tell, what type of men draws you?
-As Hugh Jackman (laugh). I like Spanish men with little aquiline nose. Moreover, in my childhood I was like Spanish. The age of young man is not important for me, but it happens, that I communicate with the men older that me. Also I don’t like these senseless risks, jump out into the window, make inscription across all the asphalt, plunge in ice-cold river. More likely, I like an active person, such as propagandist for the right business, who attracts people. The man, who brings good and people want to correspond him. I can’t separate inside energy profile from outside constituent. Anytime my female friends show me a boy: “Look, that’s a pretty boy.” But I don’t understand. “To my mind,” – I say, – “he is a sickener”. Any time I said my female friend, what I like. She said he is risky (laugh).
-Can you be easy deceived?
-Usually I trust everybody. I can be played easily. Sometimes I can think: the things they say are not the truth. But if a person cheats me one day, I will never believe this man.
To jump into fountain is easy
-I notice you laugh easy. And do you have this gift?
-It is an incredible pleasure to provoke a glad smile. To cheer up anybody, I can jump into the fountain or to climb over the fence. During the concerts I often make whoopee, jump, compel people to sing. Look, these drawings were present me by four-year girl. Such presents are the best. I throw out nothing and some things bring with me as talisman.
-Do you resent on comparison with Maxim?
-Totally not. I also gave you as an example the actor, connected with the type of men I like. Though, more often I am compared with Angelina Jolie. In last video “Go away and close the door” people created such image.
-“Go away”, did you have this situation in your life?
-Many people don’t understand this song rightly. Everything was finished well during the plot. I would prefer not to show my jealousy, as my heroine. Though, I am jealous.
-This year in national lap to Eurovision you took the third place, and conceded Bilan and Panayotov. Will you try your again?
-Surely. Firstly, I was very pity, that I didn’t pass. Because when you prepare so hard for the contest, of course, you wait positive result only. We prepared for some months, even the video was made in Chernogoriya, a place near Serbia. And here a … But Dima needed this victory more, he aimed it very much. And I will have chance yet.

She came as a guest to the workers of the “Russian radio” to answer many questions to the leader Alexander Jukov and audience. Jenya came in studio with the sound composition “Summer” in execution of “Arrant swindlers”. And immediately she confessed that summer is the best time of the year for her, but, in spite of the heat, she asked to turn off air-conditioner not to let the main “richness” of singer, voice ligaments, catch a cold. Jenya is a supporter to perform songs only, how it can be called, alive.
Leader of the “Russian radio” Alexander Jukov immediately surprised Jenya by the news that her song “Single heart” got to the hit-parade “The Gold Gramophone”. The singer didn’t know about it and became very glad. Drinking a cup of water, Jenya refused of tea, she confessed that just to get into the hit-parade of the “Russian radio” already is a big success. “Single heart” differs from the song “Go away”, which got “The Gold Gramophone” last year. “If “Go away” is a hymn of a strong girl, “Single heart” is a slogan. The slogan to find your second half, notices Jenya. By the way, the song “Single heart”, which people of Belgorod liked already, will enter in the second album, which singer plans ro come out the next spring. The main dream of the singer is to come out an album with good remakes, she has already cooperated for a long time with famous disc-jockeys, who give a new life to old and new hits, and it’s a duet-project Vengerov & Fedoroff.
In last year Kenya recorded a new song “What for is love?” for the contest “Eurovsion 2008”, but, unfortunately, the singer couldn’t get into the final. This song was recorded in three languages: Russian, English and Spanish. Outside the studio, Otradnaya confessed to Alexander Jukov that she liked this song in Spanish mostly, because it is more melodic, though arrangement for different versions of this song was the same. Next year the girl also plans to take part in the eliminatory tour of the contest “Eurovision”. Contests are not just an opportunity to show your beauty, but to meet with good people. Contests are also an incitement forward, an opportunity to perfect yourself”, noticed singer.
Jenya confessed that she likes to listen to the radio and to sing along famous artists, among them are Sofia Rotaru, bands “Guests from the future” and “Hi-Fi”. Otradnaya wants to meet vocalists of popular vestern bands “Coldplay” and “Aerosmith” and among the real achievable objectives of her regard a perspective to sing in duet with Valery Meladze. And, maybe, Jury Shevchyk, a dream of her childhood, will offer to sing together one time.
Belgorod conquered Otradnaya’s heart since the first time. Last year she came to the City’s Day. This time, as the singer confessed, she hopes to come to the City’s Day again.
And today Jenya will rejoice people Belgorod by her songs in the Cathedral square, the concert begins at 21 hour.

Jenya gave an exclusive interview to the “Trend Life” about her plans on the New Year, about her foolhardiness and men.

- Jenya, what part of your music progress played TV contest “The Secret of success”? Were you prevented from coming to the music world?

- “The Secret of success” was a turning point in my life, after this contest began my career as a singer. And I was not prevented at all. At least, I know nothing about it, and therefore I wish happiness to everybody (laughs).

- We heard your singing charmed Nikolay Baskov. Do you think about creative duo in future?

- Creative duo with Nikolay Baskov ailready was in observation in TV project “Best songs”, where we sang the song “Go away”, where he played a role of the boyfriend, who should go away and close the door (laughs). And I went to the opposite side. And Will I sing with him in future? If he offers such an idea, I will. He was among guests on the presentation of me album “Let us run” and present me very big bunch of roses, that throw down since balcony then. It was very romantic.

- Not long ago you got prize “The Gold gramophone”. What else music reward do you want to get?

- I want “Grammy”. But if I want to get it, I must win not only in “Russian radio”, and to rise on the first levels of foreign hit parades. Probably, I must create such a hit song like “Go away and close the door”, but in English or Spanish.

- I read in one interview, you like Spanish men. Do you like Spanish language owing to it?

- I like Italian and Russian men also. I have only one song in Spanish for the present. It is “Pourke Amour”, which was recorded in English and Russian. Spanish language and song was chosen specially for taking part in the contest “Eurovision”. In future I want to record few songs in Spanish and Italian. Because I have very fine recollections from Italia and Spain.

- Will you take part in Eurovision the next year? As this year you took part in the national selection to the Eurovision and got the third place, yielded Bilan and Panaiotov.

- I don’t know yet, time will show. I think I will find more interest projects, because preparation to this contest demands much power, time, placements. It is necessary to find a suitable song. But now I haven’ it.

I may also say, that Eurovision is a good training. Contest let me much emotions and power in spite of draining, but simultaneously inspire to next work.

- Jenya, in “The top- class musical” you performed the role of Charley, who has any bitchiness. Do you have this trait of character?
- It was a role on resistance. I am not bitchiness absolutely. Though I campaigned children for round dance and active work in class. But in “The top-class musical” Charley is egoistical, wants to manipulate people. It was difficult to record film, to get in so unusual role, but gradually everything went very well. Apparently I accumulated certain experience yet.
Practically everybody, who took part in sounding this film: Sergey Lazarev, Ksucha Larina, me and Misha Veselov rehearsed this film with the microphone, because it needs to repeat mimicry, gestures, reflect all emotions with voice, and everybody played wonderful.
- You are a risky man, went to Taganrog with the lover. What other foolhardiness are you ready for the lover?
- All will depend on circumstances. In that moment I must go to Taganrog. Now I must not do rash actions. In principle every man, who likes and is liked, is ready for a great deal and ready to sacrifice by many things. The main is to do such an action deliberately, understanding, what for you do it.
- Have you force majeure moments along surveys of the videos, tours, rest? It was written not long ago you hurt knees along the recording of the video “Tram”…
- Generally, actions are very dangerous process, because in a short time you must prepare and present a qualitative product for admirers. Therefore I spare not only knees, but elbows, head and voice. I haven’t dancing footwear during the surveys of the clip “Tram”, but floor was very slipper. You understand I fallen scores of times, suffered even elbows. I constantly was misled in microphone and guitar wires, which were thrown about on the surveying ground. It is good, that I didn’t break anything like drums and keys, what often happens during the concerts.
And other force majeure moments… I like very much to be late on trains (laughs) and to spring in the coach, when it starts. I’ll tell you about one event. When we rode to Urmala this simmer I, as usual, was late to train, because it was a big traffic jam in Moscow. Finally, I ran to the platform at the moment, when the train moved away, I had to jump in any coach on the run. Therefore knees hurt not only on surveys… About rest, I prefer active rest. If I go somewhere, I must climb on a mountain, climb a tree, swim in a river, go for a drive on some quadrobikes, horses…
- New Year is coming. How are you going to spend future holidays? Usually in the New Year artists works, taking part in different show projects.
- I think in the New Year we will have contests. Surveys of the New Year’s projects are in a full swing. And for these holidays my family: my mother, brother and sisters, one of them is 5 years, come to me from Taganrog. And all New Year holidays we will be together. We plan to go to Moscow, go to any musicals and performances, sit in my favorite cafe, go to the cinema and simply sit at home.
- Jenya, do you prepare a concert in Baku? Share your knowledge of Azerbaijan culture, if you have any.
- I want to come to Baku very much, because I saw this shining city on TV. My friends, who were in your city, told me about your capital with pleasure and delight. If I ride to you on tour, I will stay there for two days surely, to go around the city and to visit attractions. And I know Azerbaijan culture for such names as Muslim Magomaev and Polad Bul Bul Ogly.

In life Otradnaya is a smiling young woman, her appearance isn’t like Sharley’ is, who seems to be written from Paris Hilton, but, her voice grinding in different song contests, does the heroine more charming.
To watch “Top-class musical. Blowdown” in details, admirers of Otradnaya and many Russian stars (among them are Sergey Lazarev, Ksenya Larina and others – they dubbed the film), have to go to cinema. Because the third part of popular show comes out on big screens firstly, but earlier two first series could be seen only on TV.
To confirm the reputation of the “Top-class musical” as the best musical on the Earth, Jenya spoke with the correspondent of national News Agency.
- Will it be difficult for people to wath “Top-class musical/ Blowdown”, if they did not watch first two parts?
- I think, no. In my opinion, people will like this part. It isn’t anything like “Santa-Barbara”, where you have to penetrate in details of characters’ relations. It is simply a film, a whole story, which tells about children in 11th form. It is rather we have 11th form and they have a “high schools”. They have blowdown, they prepare to it during all the film. Here they have to prepare to this musical, as they have such a form-“aesthetic”. They are singing and dancing, as they put musical for blowdown. It’s their common business, besides studying and basketball. And here they have their backstage business ind intrigues, when my heroine Sharley begins to pull cover to herself. She think, she is the first-class singer, she wants to get the main role.
- Was it boring, for you to play one role three times in siccession? Had you interest to look at Ashley Tisdail, who plays Sharley?
- Concerning her actor’s play. I don’t know, but I want to say, that people, American actors play very well. They just grew on this film. We watched each part and took notice, how they had become more professional as actors.
And my heroine is a separate case, she is phenomenal. To dub the first part was very hard for me. Zctors call it as “role in resistance”, because I have not such a character as Sharley absolutely. She is the main bitch, but a leader undoubtedly. She achieve her results by anyway.
- Can you be such a girl as Sharley is?
- No, surely. But comforts, that Sharley becomes kinder in every series. She is spared by everyone and she understand her misfortune.
- Did you adopt part of her bichiness?
- (Laughs) It was very difficult for me to watch for the mimicry, expression in speech, when her phrase includes few different moods: she smiles, then laugh, then becomes angry, then growls, then weeps, then shuts, then looks how to bait her interlocutor. But gradually I could overcome myself, and the first film, I think, comes out.
The second film went calmer. There she was very bright. I think in the second film just my very heroine was the brightest among everybody. And in the third it was easy generally. I recorded dubbing-n one day. Saying honestly, we were recording since morning till evening. (I mean speech).
Speaking about vocal material, she has rich and different repertoire, diversify. Sharley is a heroine of character, not lyric, not romantic. She plays in all color of mood. It reflected in music material too, and I must work hard, learn notes at nights …
- Did you learn them? Or sang from paper?
- I learned, of course. Because when you write in studio, freedom of implementation depends on your knowledge of material.
- What’s the difference between American manners of implementation from Russian? Did you accommodate or add anything from our school?
- Everything depends on the voice: It mustn’t be Jenya Otradnaya’s voice of the girl Sharley, who wants to prove something by her song. Because of that, it was difficult to get in the character of this heroine, but I can say, that everybody of us have to play all this film, standing near the microphone.
- Are you pity, that you played all the film somewhere behind the wing, and there was another girl on the screen?
- Surely, not. It is such a genre. But now we have many press-conferences and today on a premiere. E had many interview, people came to us to studio, when we were working with film. “Disney Chanel rode, made everything. And we worked in store.
I want say one thing. Our Russian translation was appreciated as the best in the way of vocal. We had difficult choruses, we tried to record everything in the best quality, very detailed, observed each trifle. It as colossal experience. A an very glad, that everything happened like it is.
- What was the most difficult?
- The first series for me. And it is very pity, more exactly, that the first series were showed only on TV, but not on a big screen. I wanted it very much. But the first and the second film were showed this summer in tome of blowdownds. I hope, these films would be repeated one more time and then with the third part.
- Did you consent with everything in part of translation during the work?
- There were cases, then we offered to remake this or that things. But only after permittion of sound-editor. When he permitted to me, I paraphrased something to make it more organic, in Russian.

Evgenya Otradnaya confesses, that to select the best among the young singers is very hard. But she promises to be very objective. Life of Taganrog’s singer bubbles. Besides work in Eurovision she takes part in surveys of the last editions of “national artist-3”. She says, she is very worry for the participant Angelina Sergeeva, because she met and became her friend already for a long time.
-“Gelya and I performed in “The Morning star”, in Andrey Bill’s concerts, says Evgenya. “She is a very good singer. That’s I am worry exactly for her. I liked “National artist-3”, though I remember “The Secret of success”. I think, we had more emotions and passion. On the other hand, maybe because I say “the kitchen” of the contest, but now I am looking simply as a spectator …
During the closest time the observations of Jenya’s clip on new song “Very, very” begin. Topic is kept in secret nowadays. It is known only, that Taganrog’s girl will act with famous person from the world of show-business.

The first time Taganrog’s girl went out a stage at the age of six years as a soloist of the children band “Pharaons”. In its membership Jenya took part in festival ‘The Golden disk”, that was in Barnaul. A young singer won. It was her first success.
Then Jenya was invited to the surveys of TV program “make the circle broader”, sang a song in a popular program “The morning star”. And a real fame to Otradnaya brought a project of the channel “Russia” “The Secret of Success”, here she got the second place.

“Go away and close the door, I have another one now!”- this phrase falls into your head in a moment so deep, that you can’t but think about it all day long. Because of it, perhaps. The song is perceived as an intrusive pop music. I confess, that I had this very thought, when I went to interview Jenya Otradnaya, whose voice smote all the country. “I don’t need your number in my notebook!” I come into the studio and see a repetition of rock group. Drummer taps, guitarists tear the strings with a sense, and Jenya sings in front of them. Maybe it’s too early to take her as a pop singer?

— How could such a girl escape from Krasnotyrynsk? You are not paid for, because your father is not an oligarch.

— I sang and went to the concerts during all my childhood. The director of the show- group “Pharaohs” from our children concert hall saw me in the kindergarden on a concert and took me into his group. And I had classes there until I left this town. That work period was very reach in competitions, festivals, where I went as a part of our group and as a soloist, and as a guest. I went abroad, in regions, to “Morning Star”, «On Cinderella’s ball» and “Vocation” in Moscow. I remember, I ran there with a little notebook and took Allegrova, Bylanova, Rotary, Leshenko, Kyzmin’s autographs! Where else could I see such “monsters»? It gave me forces and I worked- it was practically a professional singing work, which took all free time. That’s why I skipped many children walks in the yards. It was very difficult and I often caught a cold because of this stress.

— And what about studying? Did you study badly?

— I had to pass everything in triple volume: not everybody of my teachers liked me to practice singing. It goes without saying, that I went to the concert tours with books. The first rate of music college was extremely perfect! I worked with children- I studied vocals with the little ones, and in parallel I should have studied myself: harmonyca, solfedgio were the rocket science for me that time! And except this work I had time to work in a town TV- studio:I led the program “With best wishes”. I congratulated everybody with anniversaries, read verses and letters. During the dinner break I managed to run to the studio, to record some programs and come back- and everything in a hour!

— And how did Moscow appear in your colorful and saturated life?

— In 18 years old I decided that it is the high time to leave the town- since the youth I had raved Moscow. But to put it mildly, Moscow is a very expensive city. Nowadays I work, I am rented a flat. But that time my boyfriend and I left for Taganrog. Just thought: let’s run away! It is just similar to the first head song of my album:”Let’s run away from this town without a cause and a reason”. My mood was like I have now. Spring! We decided: the southern city, sea, the Sun- it’s funny and nice!There were many restaurants as usual, so…where else do I work? And in no time I found work for myself. I studied during a day, and worked at night. These two years I lived, waiting for any project. I saw “The Stars’ Factory”, “People’s Artist” and there were many of my friends in these projects, who I met on the children contests and tours. Some time later I saw an advertising on TV and went to casting in Samara, and I was called to Moscow therefrom.

— How do the producers react to you?

— They still remember and laugh! I was in a jacket with suspenders, my hair was dirty of course – I spent two days riding in the car – the head was tightened with a khaki bandana, there was a bullet with a string on my neck, a sweater was tied at the hips. Militantly I come in – and began to sing: “Oh, Mom, I was skating on a sledge exactly with not needed person! ..” I didn’t expect that I will be taken into the contest, and then – bam! It was all of a sudden, and I got to the final! I was shocked, because I do not have a father-millionaire who the director of some plant is. He is just a worker at the same factory. I do not have a boyfriend with “Ferrari”. I paid money for nothing.

— How did you go through the time of your loss? After all, you got the second place.

— After that moment when you were shown the spotlight, you’re in a beautiful dress, sing every week, you have master classes with Babkina and Tsiskaridze … You need go to Taganrog, work in a restaurant. And you’re sitting in a hotel room, pack your bags. Depression … But suddenly I was called and someone said me:”We have decided to invite you to thew show “Saturday Night”. And come to sign a contract.

— And recently you took part in “Eurovision” as a professional competitor, in a qualifying round…

— Here I got the third place. I don’t know how I survived through the concert because I sang first, and the results were announced only in the end. And I had sat for two hours all on pins and needles – because so many people had put their powers in my action! They sang both in English, Spanish, and Russian the song “What for love is.” And Dima Bilan won. I grieved a little, but then calmed down, because nobody forbids me to expose my candidacy next year again.

— That boy, with whom you ran away from Krasnotyryinsk, did he stay in Taganrog?

— No, he moved here, got his job in “Ostankino”, we just parted then. It goes without saying, first months after “The secret of success” I stayed at home, I just didn’t know what to do. But then appeared new songs. The first one was “Very, very” with the Russian color, which got a video-clip, where I am in hay. It Is very simple, but due to it people remembered my face. And then there was “Go away and close the door”, I sang it and everything managed!

— Yes, the song is a hit. And there is a very powerful story in the video, when a crowd of girls and boys snapped at each other and it seems that they will fight now, but they start kissing.

— I didn’t know until the end that everybody will kiss – I found it out only in the set. And it was not even known exactly whether or no I will kiss, but everything was done without it.

— And aren’t you confused by the fact, that the song is too pop, as Laskovyi May has?

— We sing for the stage, it”s so popular, it is remembered as a ditty. However, it is a banter, because in fact it is necessary to treat it with humor. The main thing is that this song is all understandable, because who didn’t have any problems with girls and guys? It has some funny aggressiveness.

— You released the album “Let’s run away” – there is collected a variety of songs. And “Go away” – it is not a good example of your creativity.

— The record has the songs of different genres. There are both “romance”, which was written by Nadejda Novosadovich. There are both “Serge” – a stupid song truly, but at the same time very sweet. I don’t think, that if I am a singer, I should be definitely like Christina Aguilera, to play roulades. I would like to be positioned just as an artist – it’s a wide range, multi-faceted. I love the songs in “play” genre, there is no need to push everyone with the help of your voice power. And the most important thing is – the texts by themselves. I grew up on Russian rock. I like “DDT” very much – I mean Shevchuk’s texts. I am delighted with our stage of the beginning of the century, with Vertinsky. It seems to me we don’t need to go far from it.

— And you sing pop songs for teenagers…

— Mmm…Why not? It is pop-rock, at least in live performances. Nowadays to come into radio and TV, you need to make songs easy. So I have to make concessions and do more pop than rock. But I tend to rock. I think you can safely grow from pop into rock. It is worse, when people suddenly fall from rock into pop. I want the girls listen to my songs, because they are all good, not sexual. Now my fans are small, but they also grow up! Let’s grow together – why not? The songs which I sing – it’s not a soulless pop songs. Although I don’t like to scold anyone. The only thing I cannot stand – is the promotion of music.

— Sexual?

— Debauchery. Videos and songs of a certain contents. Everything of this type affects the girls very much, they think it is OK to wear mini-skirts, paint the lipstick, and then something happens in the gateways… I do not want to chase the children out. All the girls want romance, they rush anywhere without thinking! Go to a nearby town, to hang out there. I am for positive, for optimism. You just stay kind and don’t quarrel with each other. That’s my thoughts.

— Because of your love to rock and pop music you decided to release the second version of your debut album, and you work with it now? Will you make it “heavy”?

— While we were working with the album, each song has been made in several arrangements. As a result, I like this disk very much, of course, but there are just brilliant variants in aside, as I think. For example, the song “Romance” was made with a guitar and string quartet – and it is absolutely magical! And now the producers have made some concessions to me and let me publish the author’s version of the album, which I will constitute by myself.

- Jenya, congratulations on the coming birthday! How will you celebrate it?
- At home with my family and close friends. Quietly and relaxed. I hope my mom will bake my favourite cake “Anthill”. You know, I haven’t celebrated my birthday inviting many guests for a long time. Usually, I work at rehearsals or tours. The most memorable fest I had, when I was 8 years old, if I don’t mistake. The biggest cake with candles was brought and all people told me to make a wish, and my mom gave a tip: “Think of taking part in Morning star contest. And my dream realized: that year I took part in this television contest for the first time.

- Recently the audience could see your performance with the winner of Secret of success Vladimir Sapovsky. I wonder, what is the difference between TV shooting and final product?
- It is known that all TV-projects are shot not so as seen on TV then. Everything passes very quickly, it is difficult to predict what the audience will see in result. Young artists are shot since the first take almost every time. We, young artists, hardly have a chance to retake that’s why we should work a hundred percent. I will not be waited for by such respected persons as Iosif Kobzon…
In spite of tension, I liked very much to participate in filming TV show “Saturday evening”. There I could get acquainted with interesting persons, communicate with famous actors. By the way, Vitas is a very democratic and communicative person…
- Speaking about Vitas. How did it happen that you sang in duet?
- In the finale of “Secret of success” each participant was to sing with a popular performer. We sang “Icy ceiling, door is squeaking”. Our duet turned out to be such ardent, that we started to be invited to other shows, for example: Leon Izmailov.
- Can you confess that Vitas is absolutely different in everyday life?
- Oh, I wouldn’t say so because I didn’t see him different. He is always the same even behind the scenes… somewhat mysterious. As it is said: not from this world. But sing with him is just a pleasure.

I dream to become a multi-faceted singer

- You’ve managed to communicate with a variety of our stars while filming in popular programs. What do they advise to a beginning singer Jenya Otradnaya?
- They all say almost the same: if you want to become a star not for one day or month, you should be ready for hard work. And yet, I confess, it was fine to hear from Vladimir Vinokur, that I express sincere feelings in my songs. It is of great value for me.
- “Secret of success” has already finished. Many young performers were forgotten after popular shows. What do you have in perspective?
- Now I collaborate with Moscow producers. Besides filming for “Saturday evening” on TV channel “Russia” I work in other projects too. But in general I have an everyday studio work.
- For the album?
- No, it is early to say about it. For the new song under working name “Very, very”.
- Now there is a contract and not always you will decide what songs sing on stage. How do you see yourself?
- (Pause) Good question. I want to perform a certain mixture of rock and folk, probably. In general I dream to become multi-faceted singer.
- You are only 20 years, however, you have a lot of volunteers for the autographs. How often do people recognize Jenya Otradnaya in the streets.
- Without a make-up almost never (laughs). I have already got accustomed when in Moscow people come and ask for an autograph, but in home town Taganrog I experience some awkwardness. When I returned home after the final “Secret of success”, I was met so pompously that I was taken aback. And few days later when my mother and I entered a shop of toys suddenly somebody said: Look, this is Otradnaya! We were surrounded by unknown people, who said that they were my fans, asked for my autograph and even presented an enormous soft toy-dog.

From first mouth
“Number 13 is the most fortunate for me”
Favourite dish: borch that mother and grandmother cook. It is adored in our family especially with some garlic.
Style of clothe: Probably military. Even to the casting of TV program “Secret of success” I went in a dirty-green colour bandana. That was a period when I was called so: “a girl in bandana”
Happy number: Many people ask, if I am sorry that I was born on the13th? On the contrary, this number is the most fortunate for me.
Hobby: I collect glass balls with snowflakes inside. I like them very much.
Dream: To become a complete singer. And I also dream to act in a film.
